Two Pools in One
This innovative double-infinity design turns a sloping riverside site into a flexible poolscape that offers two pools in one. A novel and really quite sensible use of infinity pool technology.
Created as part of a wider home renovation, this striking double infinity pool was designed by Kale Tree Design and delivered in close collaboration with project manager Growfinity Developments.
Set into a sloping site with limited access, the build required careful planning around the pool levels, infinity troughs and balance tank. Construction also had to be staged around the wider renovation and the addition of a new pool house, with several pauses across the 15-month programme.
The finished design reads as one generous body of water, but can operate as two separate pools, creating a novel layered effect through the landscape. From pool level, the upper infinity edge draws the eye towards the lawn, river and pool house beyond.
Despite the complexity behind the scenes, the result is immaculate. The pool sits comfortably within the hillside, connecting the home, garden and pool house with a clear architectural rhythm.
