A bold, design-led poolscape created to match the striking character of the home—balancing high-impact aesthetics with easy entertaining and everyday family use.

 

This client approached Mayfair Pools with a clear vision: to create a pool and outdoor space that complemented the bold, black exterior of his home. With a background in hospitality, he prioritised flow, atmosphere, and functionality—wanting a space that felt premium, inviting, and capable of hosting guests with ease, while also serving as a relaxed, everyday environment for his young son.

A key challenge was bringing his vision of a black pool to life—something outside our typical scope. Embracing the opportunity, we worked closely with Ricky to deliver a striking design that balances sophistication with practicality, creating a space equally suited to entertaining and family time.

“We wanted to create a space for friends and family to gather, without having to leave home to enjoy summer outdoors. The increase in value of the property was another plus.

It’s all about pool parties, BBQs, and that feeling like you’re at a resort, but it’s in your own backyard. We’re spending a lot more time outside now, whether it’s swimming or just relaxing by the pool.

Working with Mayfair Pools was a pleasure, even with some of the challenges during the construction stages. The team were very adaptive to changes throughout the build, and we ended up with a quality pool and outdoor area.”

Hi, I’m Kim and I work with a great team to help individuals, as well as small and not so small businesses get their message, product and services to the world using digital media and creating wonderful websites that don’t cost the earth.

I was born in Canada, and grew up around Vancouver and the mountains of British Columbia. My love of pristine environments led me to New Zealand and eventually to the mountains, lakes and rivers of the central North Island which is home. My family’s heritage is here, and it’s from here that Korio traverses the planet.

The digital world is never static and neither are we.
