What must have been a fantastic pool in its day was well overdue for some love. And boy did it polish up well with the help of Mayfair’s master craftsmanship.

With solid bones and some lovely architectural features from its day, this Kerikeri home was the perfect candidate for a high spec renovation. Knowing what they had in would shine through without a total overhaul, the new owners maintained the original features – and meticulously brought them into a modern context without undermining the original charm.

They wanted the fun original shape to remain, but to be lovingly restored with modern materials and systems. The result is a fantastically modern home and pool – with cool retro vibes made timeless.

I was born in Canada, and grew up around Vancouver and the mountains of British Columbia. My love of pristine environments led me to New Zealand and eventually to the mountains, lakes and rivers of the central North Island which is home. My family’s heritage is here, and it’s from here that Korio traverses the planet.
