It wasn't just about the pool in this extraordinary Queenstown project. Developing an immersive, sensory experience with interlinking water features to evoke the pristine waters of Lake Wakatipu below was paramount.

Gary Todd Architecture created an amazing design with numerous challenges that the experienced team at Mayfair Pools & Spas handled with aplomb. The water features start at the front entrance with a mirror pond to calm the senses as you enter this beautiful residence. As you walk through the house all you see is the blending of the pool into Lake Wakatipu. The huge cantilever pool also comes with a 5m infinity edge 'waterfall' to create a 'grotto' under the pool and behind the sheet of water. A stunning feature.

The end result really speaks for itself, with the precision of the design allowing the homeowners to effortlessly go with flow.

  • PLC runs some of the features on the pool and the pump room is more like a control room.

I was born in Canada, and grew up around Vancouver and the mountains of British Columbia. My love of pristine environments led me to New Zealand and eventually to the mountains, lakes and rivers of the central North Island which is home. My family’s heritage is here, and it’s from here that Korio traverses the planet.

The digital world is never static and neither are we.
