From Dated to Deliberate

Sometimes the biggest transformation isn't the pool itself, it's how the space is used. By modernising the pool, improving safety and accessibility, and creating stronger links between the home and outdoor area, this renovation delivered a thoughtfully reimagined space that's made for family life and entertaining.

This project refreshed an older concrete pool and turned a disconnected outdoor area into a modern space for family life and entertaining.

The original pool was in good shape but felt dated and separate from the home. We upgraded it with a new fibreglass interior in Karekare, a deep grey that works beautifully with the home and garden.

With young kids in mind, we improved how the pool is used. The old external steps were removed and replaced with internal entry steps and a shallow shelf, making it safer, easier to use, and a great spot to relax or keep an eye on the kids.

Around the pool, we updated the finishes with new coping and a mix of aluminium and glass fencing. New decking now connects the house directly to the pool, turning what was once a separate area into a natural extension of the home. New LED lighting brings the pool to life at night, adding both function and atmosphere.

The end result is a clean, modern space that’s easy to use and built for everyday living.

What the client has to say:

We’re absolutely thrilled with the pool renovation and couldn’t be happier with the end result. The new steps have been a standout feature for us - making it much safer and far more accessible for our kids, while also giving us real peace of mind day-to-day. We love the colour choice and the overall finish; it’s completely transformed the space and feels like a proper upgrade to how we use our outdoor area.

The team were fantastic to deal with from start to finish - professional, dedicated, and easy to work with - and communication was clear and consistent throughout the whole process.

It’s made a big difference to how we use the pool as a family, and we’d highly recommend Sophie, Pita and their team to anyone considering a renovation.

Kim Manunui

Hi, I’m Kim and I work with a great team to help individuals, as well as small and not so small businesses get their message, product and services to the world using digital media and creating wonderful websites that don’t cost the earth.

I was born in Canada, and grew up around Vancouver and the mountains of British Columbia. My love of pristine environments led me to New Zealand and eventually to the mountains, lakes and rivers of the central North Island which is home. My family’s heritage is here, and it’s from here that Korio traverses the planet.

The digital world is never static and neither are we.

And I say ‘we’ because I work with an awesome group of talented people who I gather together as required to complete a project.  Whatever your business, not-for-profit or individual needs are we gather the best team to get the job done.

Collaboratively we are creative, share sustainable values and work hard for great outcomes because that’s the buzz of satisfaction that drives us.

If you have an audience and market to reach, we can make that happen. Creative design, words that work and smart behind the scenes stuff that cuts through the online noise. We’ll design your website and then build it. We’ll manage the content as well as all your hosting needs. We can handle your online advertising so you get noticed,
and we’ll manage your social media presence so you get the clicks, likes and engagement to grow your business. All within the budget you set, because none of this needs to cost the earth.  And the job doesn’t stop when your website goes live. We are your virtual business partner.
