An Elevated Retreat
Set on an elevated rural site, this infinity pool is a carefully considered response to its surroundings. The pool’s placement and orientation were driven by the site’s long views, with the infinity edge used to visually extend the waterline toward the distant inlet and surrounding hills.
The design is defined by strong, simple geometry and a restrained material palette. Light-toned pool surrounds provide a clean edge to the water, while timber decking introduces warmth and continuity with the adjacent outdoor living areas. A frameless glass balustrade encloses the pool without interrupting sightlines, reinforcing the openness of the space.
Rather than acting as a standalone feature, the pool is integrated into the broader layout of the home and landscape. It functions as a central outdoor zone that supports both everyday use and entertaining, while maintaining a clear architectural relationship to the house. The result is a composed, site-responsive pool that prioritises proportion, clarity, and long-term usability.
