Backyard revamp

This Tauranga swimming pool receives a modern makeover, transforming the client’s backyard space from 90’s chic to a fresh and welcoming outdoor area.

The 90s were famous for grunge music, the mullet, the internet revolution and unique and innovative design that began to prioritise function over fashion. Fast-forward thirty years and plaid, bandannas and high-waisted rip jeans are still paving the way for the looks we love today. Architecture and landscape design are no different, and like it or not, the 90s unknowingly set a foundation for many of the aesthetics and function we see in design today.

For this Tauranga client however, it was time to breathe new life into their 90s pool. With its functional geometric design already in place, the makeover was purely aesthetic – replacing the dated terracotta pavers with new coping and pavers to create a more modern poolscape. The refurbishment also included a new custom-sprayed fibreglass shell in Atlantic Blue to complete the look.
